Technical Advisory Committee

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) - The AB 524 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is a statutorily mandated committee which serves to advise the California Health Policy and Data Advisory Commission (CHPDAC). The TAC addresses risk-adjusted outcomes studies on California hospitals. Members are reviewing methods of processing hospital discharge records to appropriately adjust for severity of illness by patient. The process will ultimately assist in the determination of quality of care in California hospitals. Studies include maternal outcomes, acute myocardial infarction, disk surgery, hip fractures, and community-acquired pneumonia with a new study reviewing quality of care in intensive care units (ICU's) of hospitals.
